Construction Claims Administrator
Under direction, provides support in the analysis of contractor’s claims and preparation of defense or resolution of litigation; provides quality control of materials for permanent installation on District facilities; provides soil investigation services for future construction projects; and processes construction contract payments and consultant payments.
Absolute Requirement: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois; however, for a candidate with registration as a Professional Engineer in another state, registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois must be obtained prior to appointment. Minimum Requirement: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university majoring in civil, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering, or a closely-related field, and graduation from an accredited law school with a Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor) degree. Eight years of professional experience in commercial, industrial or public works construction engineering. At least three years of this experience must have been in the negotiation, resolution and litigation of construction claims.
