Senior Safety Specialist
Under general supervision, plans and coordinates the safety program throughout the District.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a major in occupational safety and health, safety technology, engineering, or allied sciences. Four years experience in the development, implementation or communication of safety programs in the workplace, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Certification as a Certified Safety Professional by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Substitution: Additional experience in the development, implementation or communication of safety programs in the workplace may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An additional two years of related supervisory experience may be substituted for possession of the Certified Safety Professional credential.
One year of experience with the District as Safety Coordinator. Civil service status as a Safety Coordinator.
