Instrumentation Chemist II
Under direction, performs more difficult professional research work involving analytical methodology and instrumentation in a chemical environmental laboratory for water and wastewater.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree majoring in chemistry or a closely related field. Four years of full-time professional work experience in a wastewater laboratory involving analytical methodology of which one year must have been at the supervisory level. Experience must include two years of GC/MS analysis according to U.S. EPA methods and protocol for organic priority pollutants in wastewater and sludge. Substitution: Related postgraduate work above the master’s degree (preferably a Ph.D. degree) may be substituted for the non-supervisory experience on a year-for-year basis.
One year of service with the District as an Instrumentation Chemist I. Civil Service status as an Instrumentation Chemist I.
